Hi All,

Well it didn't take long after the weekend meet (Ian are you going to post a few pics) I have got a demin blue leather gator to replace the standard rubber one, small mod I know by its a start

To save any pain, does anyone have a 'How to fit' guide  Or anything I need to be carefull of?

It's about as simple a mod as you can get mate ;-) depending upon the actual gaiter you may not even have to remove the gearknob, but there are a lot of different styles. I have recently seen pics where people have left the rubber gaiter in place so that it keeps the leather offering up and that seems to look a lot better to me and obviously easy for you :)

Take it out to the car offer it up and I reckon within 10 mins tops you will be sporting a new leather gaiter ;-)

Well I have done it :p Hardest part was lining up the holes.......... BUT......

Colour match!! [smiley=bigcry.gif]

Will this tone down or should I be going back to suppiler, I know the car is 8 years old and you won't get a perfect colour match but I did order a denim blue   and the flash is on the camera

Over to the experts.......

Neil, no not got the cable yet, gently does it

Looking good Rob.

Did you leave the rubber gaitor under the leather one as mentioned by Charlie?

I looks better as the leather does not disappear down the hole!

The match is a mile out [smiley=bigcry.gif] He did say he had a darker colour, but not tacking the risk, plus the knee pads are black, so going back to black. :p

Gator was from e-bay, very quick service and the after sales has been good, no quibble about changing it over. Was charged extra for a blue one :x

Hi Rob,

Did you by any chance get it from Top Gaiters on ebay?

I have black leather gear gaiter with red stitching which now sits perfectly.

The first one I recieved had too many holes and I had to bunch 2 holes together
to fit it and then it wasn't flush and looked wrong....However I explained the problem
and sent them a diagram of exactly what I wanted and they sent me another free of charge
and it fitted spot on.

Message me your email addy and I will do my best to help you.

Cheers
