I have not looked at the guide, but i fitted two sets.

1st set - from the interior light, as the wires are so easy to identify especially if your not into wiring. this will enable the FL to come on when you unlock the car. Very easy to run the wire down the pillar

2nd set - from the cig lighter. As these ones stay on when driving and can be adjusted manually with the dash illumination, but at brightest are slight dimmer than the 1st set, so when your in the car and the courtesy light dims and goes out you will have the effect of the 1st set dimming leaving a background light in the foot well.

it mimics the characteristics of the foot well lights in the A6 allroad and A8 perfectly. and very simple to do.
