Bumper alignment - Need help

Whilst washing my TT I noticed that my front bumper is not quite aligned correctly over by the passenger side headlight. The bumper does not sit flush with the bonnet and seems to be in about 5-7mm. There is no damage on the bumber and i can only assume it has been knocked in a car park. Does anyone have a schematic or advice on how I might be able to align it? I really don't want to go back to Audi to do it.

Help or links would be appreciated.

A picture or two would help greatly to explain the actual problem.

However, there are no bumper fixings in the area you describe (I'm reading this as the area between the grille and the inner corner of the headlamp) so its difficult to say how to realign the bumper. I'm guessing that the plastic must be deformed in some way.

Bumper fixings are underneath to the undertray, at the top of the grille to the slam panel and two studs/nuts to the wing on either side below the headlights.

Pictures here from the KB might help you to visualise things:

Is the bumer easy to remove and refit? Maybe that's worth a go? It is very unusual because it's not massively out, but it is noticable.
Yes, quite easy as described in the thread I quoted above although I think it is easier to remove the headlights to get access to the bumper-to-wing fixings rather than go through the wheel arch liner route.

thats funny, mines in the same location as well. i didnt notice this when i was checkin out the car before buying. didnt realize it until first time detailing the car. not too noticeable unless up close.
Are you saying yours is slightly mis aligned too?
yes. from what i can tell, it looks as if something got pushed in slightly. not too noticeable unlesss u look at it upclose and at an angle. ill try to get some pic later when im home from work. my car is blue so it might be easier to see

I can see what you mean, recently I removed the bumper on mine to fit a bigger IC, and was pushed for time when I put it all back together. Then I decided that the gap between the bumper and edge of the bonnet was too large... I checked old pictures, drove alongside one at a dealer, and in the end decided if it was out it was only a mm or two.

The point being I couldn't see how I could re-fit the bumper again and make a difference. The other thought is to see if there is adjustment on the bonnet catch as I just don't see how I can change the bumper fit. Plus I think the IC is such a tight fit (anyone remember them?)that it might be pushing the bumper down at the bottom edge.

It is not a really simple job to remove the bumper, two people defo to remove and re-positon, and you will need a good selection of torx attachments. I removed the headlights rather than the inner wing, the only tricky screw is at the back of the lights. Having said that it s not difficult either, it can't be, I managed it. (Sort of).

When looking straight at the bonnet/bumper there is a large gap between them; that's how it comes from Audi. The OP is referring to misalignment which is seen when looking down at the bonnet/bumper meeting point, where one or other of those two parts is too far forward or back.

I managed to remove/replace the bumper on mine on my own and with no paint damage at all. Naturally you need the right implements for the fasteners but otherwise its straight forward.
I replaced all the fasteners loosely, then positioned and secured the grille to slam panel joint, then the bumper to wing joint and finally the fasteners to the undertray.

Did you remove the bottom screws securing the grille to the bumper to allow just a fraction more room for the IC?

Point taken about doing it on your own, luckily for me the guy who's garage I was in lent a hand.

Re the screws; Sure did, how did you know about that? Have you fitted one as well??

Good method for re-attaching, as I said I was throwing tools, screws etc everywhere to finish!
